They dish it out, but can they take it??

They’re all up in arms again…about so-called dirty politics on the part of conservatives. Let’s see… third parties publish the voting record of limp-wristed Republicans and left wing Democrats, then Matt and company freak out. I’m starting to notice a pattern here. The interesting thing is that negative campaigning from third parties isn’t unique to the right. In fact, in elections past, left wing groups connected with the Democrat party (like the abortion lobby, lawyers, gay groups, etc) have poured money into states like Montana hoping to influence the elections. They use the money not for sunshine and lolly pops but for negative campaigning. Why? Because it works. People not only want to know what they’re voting for but also what they’re voting against.
I realize that random, obscure, online bloggers have no passion for facts and that their zombies don’t care… but the reason Koopman is never firmly linked to those PACs is because no one has been able to show a connection.
The facts are that groups on all sides of the political spectrum take part in dirty politicking… and will continue to do so. It’d be nice if the left could take what they dish out.
