MT Senate Dems vote correctly OR How to make a Socialist’s eyes bleed…

By Rusty Shackleford | December 15, 2008

Check out the butthurt flowing from the Left regarding both of Montana’s Senators voting against the auto-industry bailout. I guess we’ll just have to wait to hear why Tester voted the way he did.

How cool is this:

The Senate just held its long-awaited vote on cloture for the auto bailout bill, and it failed 52-35. Good.

A few surprises: The Maine Sisters voted to end debate and not to support the filibuster, but Montana’s two Democrats, Max Baucus and Jon Tester, sided with the Republican filibuster.

In the meantime, congratulations to Senate Republicans. Most of them, and a few Democrats like Baucus and Tester and Blanche Lincoln, must have read their Robert Byrd Pocket Constitutions and realized that the federal government has no role in bailing out private enterprise with taxpayer money.

Ed Morrissey is throwin’ atta-boys to Baucus and Tester. Sweeeeeet.

Oh, and as to a possible explanation for their vote…it may have something to with the fact that 61% of Americans and an even higher percentage of Montantans (I know it’s not scientific, but it’s still cool) oppose the bailout.

That is all.

The party of Hoover has some tailgaters.

It seems that each second 30 year generation has to learn again the lessons of their forebears - the Great Depression generation has mostly passed now, and here we are doing it all over again.

The encouraging thing is that once we learn the lesson, there follows a period of prosperity, as we had in the high-tax labor-union-intensive 50’s and 60’s. There’s a fly in your ointment.

Interesting factoid: Assuming 3 million jobs could be saved with the bailout, the cost per job would be about $5,000. Alabama spent $255,000 per job to bring non-union Mercedes Benz into their state.

Screwed up priorities, agendas set at the very top, carried out by true believers below. How long will it take before you and your ilk pass and we can again have a middle class? Not soon enough.

By definition alone, there will always be a middle class.

I find it ironic that you presume to know what “class” I reside in. Interesting.

You Socialists and your class warfare…it never gets old!
