Bow to the Queen, or be Chopped at the Knees

Even Democrats are starting to question tactics in Queen Nancy’s court:
Democratic leaders have acknowledged that the “regular order” process of methodically developing and writing bills in subcommittees and committees has been abandoned recently. But they have defended the handling of such sensitive and important legislation by only an exclusive group of leadership and senior lawmakers as a necessary tactic during exceptional times.
They’ve effectively pushed aside not only Republicans but Democrats considered unworthy. While promoting the populist message of leveling executive salaries and privileges (like private jets), leading Democrats seem to think themselves the exception. It’s not certain if they’ll be willing to freeze their generous salaries even as average Americans suffer.
Government elitism bothers me far more than the corporate variety: atrocities occur when the fat cats run the show.
