Cap and Trade: “even proponents like Phillips acknowledge it will raise higher energy bills…”
By Rusty Shackleford | October 27, 2009
The White House has enlisted the help of a Bozeman Democrat to push carbon-reducing legislation that promotes alternative energy like wind and solar power. But State Rep. Mike Phillips said a large challenge faces him and others who want to see the federal legislation pass. He announced he’d been chosen the day after a poll showed only one-third of Americans believe human activity is causing the world to warm.
“It’s going to be tough, because it asks people to make fundamental shifts in how they view themselves, their relationships to each other and the role of the marketplace,” Phillips said. “If it passes, it will be by the hair of its chinny-chin-chin and after a lot of hard work.”
And even proponents like Phillips acknowledge it will raise higher energy bills, since energy companies would have to buy credits in order to burn fossil fuels like coal and petroleum.
…
The poll shows that the country needs to be “re-educated” about the issue, Phillips said.
“Re-educated”? Maybe some stimulus cash could be used to build some sort of camp or something to aid in this “re-education”!!
The arrogance of the American Left knows no bounds.
That is all.
